Tour Overview

Morocco is a country of extraordinary contrasts — ancient medinas and grand imperial cities, rugged mountain landscapes, fertile valleys, Atlantic shores and the vast stillness of the Sahara. But beyond the places themselves, it is the warmth of its people, the traditions passed from one generation to the next and the remarkable diversity of its food that make Morocco so unforgettable.

This 22-day journey has been designed to take you far beyond a conventional tour of Morocco. We travel from Casablanca north to Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan and the blue streets of Chefchaouen before journeying through Meknès and Fes, across the changing landscapes of the country to the Sahara and Dades Gorges, and finally to the energy of Marrakech and the relaxed Atlantic town of Essaouira.

Along the way, Morocco will reveal itself through its food.

We will taste olives in Casablanca, share mint tea and pastries in Rabat, discover neighbourhood bakeries and traditional breads in Tangier, enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family in Chefchaouen and experience the extraordinary food culture of Fes. There will be cooking with Moroccan families, street-food tastings, visits to artisans and producers, traditional markets, regional wines, argan oil, tagines, breads, pastries and dishes that change as dramatically as the landscapes around us.

Some of the most memorable moments will be wonderfully simple — sitting around a family table, watching bread disappear into a communal neighbourhood oven, meeting the person who makes the pottery our tagine is served in, sharing a meal in a village or learning the story behind a dish that has been prepared in the same way for generations.

We will also experience Morocco's great historic cities and landscapes: the kasbahs and medinas, the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, the artisan quarters and tanneries of Fes, the dunes of the Sahara, the dramatic Dades Gorges, the palaces and gardens of Marrakech and the windswept coast of Essaouira. As with all my tours, the journey has been deliberately balanced. There are exceptional guided experiences and carefully chosen meals, but also free afternoons and evenings to wander, shop, relax at our beautiful hotels or discover somewhere of your own.

This is not about racing through Morocco and ticking places off a list. It is about slowing down, meeting people, understanding traditions, tasting the differences between one region and the next and experiencing Morocco through the people who call it home.
