Dominique Rizzo is one of Queensland’s leading female chefs who creates purely delicious, healthy and real food. As a result her recipes inspire people to make a change for the better while still loving their food.

Who I am

As a Chef, Author and Presenter Dominique’s aim is to inspire people to cook with fresh, seasonal and local produce. Through her innovative recipes and a healthy attitude her mission is to improve general wellbeing and build confidence in the kitchen. Firstly, Dominique believes that everyone can cook. Secondly, she hopes to inspire creative cooking which brings vitality onto peoples plates. “I am deeply passionate about creating innovative food using clean fresh produce. My heart lies naturally within the pages of Italian cuisine, while my inspiration takes you on a culinary journey of world food flavours.”

Experience

Most importantly embracing over 30 years in the hospitality industry, and over 20 years’ experience as a chef and restaurateur, Dominique has established herself as a well known Food Advocate and Chef in Australia.  For instance, through her public speaking, cooking classes, cooking presentations and demonstrations, Dominique is able to share her abundant knowledge around Australia. Likewise with her recipe writing, food styling, radio, magazine and Television work.  Dominique focuses not only on her true passion for Italian and Sicilian food culture, most importantly she also incorporates an emphasis on all cuisines celebrating Australia’s amazing melting pot of a multicultural kitchen. Her media experience spans for over 17 years’ working in Australian television and radio.  Dominique has also hosted and presented on a number of cooking programs with her new venture to open 2023.

Cook Books & NEW Cooking School

After selling her very successful cafe/restaurant  Putia Pure Food Kitchen, School and Pantry in October 2019.  Due to popular demand, Dominique has relaunched her sellout cookbook “My Taste of Sicily” showcasing a beautiful collection of delicious family-friendly Italian inspired recipes. More importantly highlighting her passion for fresh healthy cooking and her Sicilian heritage. She is currently working on a series of “Pure Food Cooking” books aimed for the regular household cook and featuring simple, healthy recipes and foods for the whole family. In 2023 Dominique launches her latest project, “The Urban Feast Cooking School” bringing a real splash of the Mediterranean to Brisbane’s Northside. Featuring 2 kitchens including an alfresco kitchen with wood-fired pizza oven, bbq, smoker and after all that cooking, a typical dining experience under the grapevines. This is certainly going to be a popular place where Dominique brings all her travelling food inspiration into fruition.

Food Tours & Travel Experiences

As a result for her love of travel and discovery, Dominique launched her Food Tours 10 years ago. Subsequently out of a desire to create Chef-inspired bespoke itineraries for the thinking traveller. Her Food Tours are the culmination of years of travel, research and relationships which now take her and her clients to Sicily and surrounding Islands, Puglia, Spain, Sardinia and Corsica. She is also offering Women Only Tours scheduled for Morocco and Holistic Relaxing and Rejuvenating Tours to Norfolk Island on the near horizon. Dominique’s Food Tours are a focus on hospitality, quality, personalised service and uniqueness. Above all her Food Tours are created for the busy traveller who desire something more out of their travel itinerary. With small groups from 10 – 14 people, bespoke itineraries, luxury accommodation and your own private chef for the duration of the tour, Dominique’s’ Food Tours are definitely something different for all travel lovers.
