Finding the best culinary travel tours to suit you seems like a big task. We’ve put together some of the most frequently asked questions about chef Dominique Rizzo’s national and international food and wine tours. As a result, you can see whether our packages are going to be right for you. Furthermore, if there’s anything else you need to know, we are always happy to help.

Costs and Inclusions

The tour price includes everything listed in the inclusions and most meals. The price also includes all transfers to the hotel on day of arrival and to the airport on the day of departure. In addition, we also include all tips and entry into all sites and locations. Furthermore, all beverages specified in the specific tour inclusions lists. The main aspect that is not included is the flights.

You can pay either via credit card through our secure website payment portal, over the phone through Payway, or by posting a money order or cheque. We ask you pay a deposit upon confirmation of your booking. We will then send you updated invoices outlining your next payment and work within your budget.

This depend on how much you love shopping! Most of your meals, all of your accommodation and almost everything else is included in the price. You will only need extra money for shopping and small personal items. You may also need money for the occasional meal not listed in the inclusions.

Our food and wine tour packages are perfect for anyone who enjoys travel, cooking, food and wine! Anyone who loves to meet new people and enjoy new experiences is welcome. Of course, our tours are perfect for foodies as the food is superb. In addition, if you love wine you will not be disappointed! For passionate cooks, learning new local techniques to take back to your kitchen at home is inspiring. But you don’t have to be a great cook to enjoy the tour. We cater for all cooking abilities.

That depends on your chosen tour package. For our personally escorted tours, we specialise in intimate tour groups of usually 14 to 16 people. This allows for unique and personalised attention. In addition, it allows us to provide a higher quality of service. This includes comfortable travel and unique accommodation.

Yes, we can have people join the tour. The price will be allocated accordingly as a percentage of the entire tour.

Yes we’d love to meet you in one of our beautiful locations! When you arrive on our tour, we can take care of everything for you. This includes food, accommodation and transport while you’re with us. If you have more of Europe to see, you can then leave us at the end of the tour and continue traveling if you wish.

Through our agent we can assist you with flights, outside of the tour transfers and accommodation. We can also offer other tours listed on our website.

Food, Wine and Cooking Information

Our tours provide many opportunities to taste, explore and experience your chosen region. We provide hands-on cooking classes as well as cooking demonstrations from passionate local chefs. As well, we go to food markets and taste the local cuisine. We also do wine tastings, sampling the region’s best local wine. Dominique hand-selects all the menus in our culinary travel tours. Meals range from degustation menus, to dinner banquets, to gourmet traditional lunches. You will not go hungry on our tours!

Cooking skills are not needed on our tours. But a love of food is a big plus as there will be lots of it! Cooking classes and demonstrations cater for everyone. There is fun to be had for both the novice cook or someone experienced in the kitchen.

Yes we can cater for any specific dietary requirements – including people with coeliac disease. Just let us know your needs when booking.

Itinerary and Transport

As much as we are about the food and wine, we are also passionate about the journey of exploration through the arts and culture. Pure Food travel tours also have a relaxed planned itinerary, which you can opt in or out of, depending on how you feel on the day. We take you on guided tours of the local region. We do cultural visits and easy-going walks to visit the must-see sights. This includes areas of historical significance, museums and buildings as well as natural landmarks. Our relaxed itineraries offer a comprehensive understanding of the region. This includes the history behind their culture. We also give you maps and tips on what you can see in your spare time.

There is a comfortable planned itinerary for every day of the tour. We put together our culinary travel tours with relaxation and fun in mind. Packages are not designed to exhaust you by moving you from one place to another each day. We create the time and space for you to enjoy each moment. Since we take care of the logistics for you, as a result you can enjoy greater flexibility in your day. If you decide not to follow the day’s itinerary that’s fine too! Our tours are designed to provide for freedom and a sense of personal discovery.

We escort you throughout the tour in a private air-conditioned mini-bus. Where possible, we also utilise local transportation if it enhances the travel experience.

Booking a Tour

We have three different packages, depending on your needs. You can either travel as part of a mixed group, or take a private tour. In addition, you can take a culinary travel tour as a private group. Every Pure Food, Wine & Cooking tour offers the same all-inclusive benefits. This means our packages include our itinerary, all meals, accommodation, and transport.

Personally Escorted Tours
Dominique’s personally escorted tours comprise of 10 – 12 people in a mixed group. This can include couples, groups and individuals.

You can book a private tour for any number of travellers up to 16. This is ideal for small groups and couples who prefer to travel alone.
