Who I am

As a Chef, Author and Presenter my aim is to inspire people to cook with fresh, seasonal and local produce. Through my innovative recipes and a healthy attitude my mission is to improve general wellbeing and build confidence in the kitchen. Firstly, I believes that everyone can cook. Secondly, I hope to inspire creative cooking which brings vitality onto peoples plates. “I am deeply passionate about creating innovative food using clean fresh produce. My heart lies naturally within the pages of Italian cuisine, while my inspiration takes you on a culinary journey of world food flavours.”

My life and work centres around my philosophy;
“Through the sharing of food we share life and one is never lonely or hungry.”

Experience

My experience spans over 30 years in the hospitality industry, and over 20 years’ as a chef and restaurateur. I have established myself as a well known Food Advocate and Chef in Australia.  Through my public speaking, emceeing and hosting Food Events, my cooking classes and various cooking presentations and demonstrations, I am passionate about sharing my abundant knowledge around Australia.

Likewise with my recipe writing, Chef food styling, radio, magazine and Television work and consulting,   I focus not only on my true passion for Italian and Sicilian food culture, most importantly I also incorporate an emphasis on all cuisines celebrating Australia’s amazing melting pot of a multicultural kitchen.

My media experience spans for over 17 years’ working in Australian television and radio and I have also hosted and presented on a number of cooking programs.

Cook Book & NEW Cooking School

After selling her very successful cafe/restaurant  Putia Pure Food Kitchen, School and Pantry in October 2019.  Due to popular demand, I relaunched my sellout cookbook “My Taste of Sicily” showcasing a beautiful collection of delicious family-friendly Italian inspired recipes. More importantly highlighting my passion for fresh healthy cooking and her Sicilian heritage.  In 2023 I launched my latest project, “The Urban Feast Cooking School” bringing a real splash of the Mediterranean to Brisbane’s Northside. Featuring 2 kitchens including an alfresco kitchen with wood-fired pizza oven, bbq, smoker and after all that cooking, a typical dining experience under the grapevines. This is certainly going to be a popular place where I will bring all my travelling food inspiration into fruition.

As a result for my love of travel and discovery, I launched my Food Tours 10 years ago. Subsequently out of a desire to create Chef-inspired bespoke itineraries for the thinking traveller, my Food Tours are the culmination of years of travel, research and relationships which now take myself and my clients to Sicily and surrounding Islands, Puglia, Spain, , Morocco and Northern Italy. My Food Tours are a focus on hospitality, quality, personalised service and uniqueness. Above all my Food Tours are created for the busy traveller who desire something more out of their travel itinerary. With small groups from 10 – 14 people, bespoke itineraries, luxury accommodation and your own private chef for the duration of the tour, my Food Tours are definitely something different for all travel lovers.
