Exotic and Mystical Morocco

Immerse yourself with the Moroccan culture, gastronomy and people.

ABOUT EXOTIC AND MYSTICAL MOROCCO TOUR

Morocco, described as being dazzling and beguiling, the hustle and bustle of the various Medinas is intoxicating, the serene calmness of the mountains is invigorating. The enticing smells of the spices and the ochre colour of the mud brick houses will be embedded fondly in your memory.

Experience the country, sea and city as we take you on an exciting culinary and cultural journey of Morocco and its surrounding towns.   The Highlights of our Morocco trip truly covers a diverse country ranging from fertile fields, captivating mountains, desert sands and arid landscapes as well as cities, small towns and mountain villages each with their own unique characteristics and people.

Cities like Fez, Marrakech, and Chefchaouen evoke images of medinas, spice markets, and couscous, while the geographic extremes – from the Atlas Mountains to country resorts to camels in the desert – make it eminently photogenic.

Beaches and Berbers, medinas and mosques, souks and sand dunes… Morocco has variety, mystery, history and an exotic culture that has fascinated travellers since long before the modern traveller arrived.  With knowledgeable and insightful guides and warm and generous locals who truly enjoy showing and sharing their country with you.   During the tour, we visit Medinas, Mosques and markets, as well as discover where the Moroccans make and paint their pottery, dye and make the leather goods, weave the famous moroccan rugs, gather the argan nuts and turn them into product, and buy and eat fresh seafood right off the boats.

This tour is ideal if you have always wanted to travel to Morocco, but don’t want to travel on your own or deal with all of the arrangements.  To experience as much of Morocco as you can without lifting a finger is easy. Our itinerary will maximize your time so you can experience the many different cultures of a fascinating country.

The trip offers the opportunity to not only experience Morocco’s wonderful landscape, but also to meet the people and to learn about their culture and way of life.

***PLEASE NOTE

Due to the size of Morocco and the distance we will be travelling our hotel stays range from 1 – 3 night stays in each hotel.  A list of the Riads will be included  in the itinerary.

We stop in Rabat to visit  Oudaya and Mohamed 5th mausoleum. Rabat is the capital of Morocco and is a place which combines modernity
and traditions beautifully. We spend our first two nights in our stunning Riad in Rabat.

After breakfast in our Riad, we visit the atmospheric old city, Medinas, Market, souks of Rabat. Rabat is a cultural city deep-rooted in history. Many masterpieces decorate its streets and squares. We visit the Kasbah des Oudayas which is a majestic and splendid architecture embellished by the surrounding gardens. We lunch in a local Moroccan restaurant then give you the afternoon and evening free to explore this incredible city. With its modern infrastructures and various festivals, Rabat is a living city. Airport, tram, shopping centres, cafés and restaurants, all the amenities are within your reach. Revel in bustling vibes of music that Rabat celebrates like no other city ; from Mawazine, to Jazz au Chellah and many others that fill the atmosphere with sounds and rhythms from all over the world !

Today we visit one of the most photographed cities in Morocco.

Built on a mountainside, Chefchaouen is a city with a special vibes and its unique charm gives an impression of unreality. With its blue-rinsed houses, the whole city seems to be bathed in azure. We stop in the city center for lunch then check into our Ryad giving you time to relax and enjoy the stunning sunset near the old Mosque.

More than just an ornament, the beautiful Chefchaouen brims with attractions. Its heritage is rich. The inescapable Medina with its famous narrow winding alleys, is an opportunity to mingle with the local population, and to smell and taste delights: from freshly baked bread, to skillfully prepared tagines. There is also the Kasbah which stands in the middle of the old quarter: its lush gardens, located in the center of the city, are a haven of freshness. The night is yours to wander through the streets take pictures and to really get a feel for the essence of Morocco and this enchanted city.

A TASTE OF THE 2024 ITINERARY

Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, you meet your dedicated driver who will pick you up from the airport with a sign with your party’s name on it. We head to the city center where you’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon at leisure. We will then head to one of Casablanca's beautiful garden restaurants where the locals go for a welcome dinner of classic Moroccan dishes for your introduction to the country’s cuisine! Overnight in Casablanca (D)

After breakfast, we head to Casablanca’s iconic Hassan II Mosque the second largest functioning mosque in Africa and is the 7th largest in the world. We enjoy a guided tour inside the architectural masterpiece, then depart to Fes with stops en route to visit Meknes and Volubilis, the Roman ruins from centuries ago. We tour the ruins and the stunning imperial gates that dot the neighboring city of Meknes. We enjoy lunch at a local vineyard, featuring a tour of the property, wine tasting, and a meal made with local fresh produce. We sample the famous Moroccan vin gris (gray wine) and pair wines with locally sourced cheeses. A scenic drive to Fes, we arrive at out hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner is at our hotel giving you time to relax before hand. Overnight in Fes (B/D)

After breakfast, we head out to the markets to shop for local produce as part of our cooking class! After picking out fresh ingredients, we will then learn how to make a classic Moroccan dish and just like the locals this will depend on the ingredients we pick up that day. Our class concludes with a communal lunch of what we cooked that day. After lunch we begin our guided visit of the cultural capital of Morocco. Founded in 781AD, Fes is now considered the world’s largest car-free urban zone. Beware of mule-drawn carriages that speed through the alleyways. We check out a local pharmacy with its mysterious canisters of roots, flowers and powders and discover the medina’s Jewish quarter, the medersas (schools), and the legendary tanneries, where ancient techniques are still used to prepare Moroccan leather. We stop by the world’s oldest and longest-operating learning institution, the University of Al Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 AD, along with a visit of the souks and artisans’ quarters. You’ll then experience a Fes tasting tour, during which you’ll visit three different food souks. Try traditional Moroccan street food, including dried meats, milawi, harsha, briwats, spicy sardines, spicy potato cakes, soups, olives and more. Investigate traditional cooking methods by visiting a furnace where the water for the hammam (communal bath house) is also heated, and a 400-year-old furan (communal oven and bakery). Afterwards, the rest of the evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Fes (B/L)
